About the Center

The Southern California Vipassana Center is one of over 120 international centers and numerous non-center sites where the technique of Vipassana meditation is taught and practiced.

The Center is located just North of Joshua Tree National Park in Twentynine Palms, CA. It is a 2-1/2 hr. drive from the Los Angeles and San Diego metropolitan areas with bus, rail and airline access nearby.

The 154 acre property is desert landscape with trees and shrubs surrounding a 3,000 sq. ft. home and outbuildings. Beautiful vistas of desertscape and the winter snowcapped Mt. San Gorgonio can be enjoyed from the property.

A first-phase development plan to construct a center for 60 students is underway. As soon as funds become available, construction of a center for 160 students is planned.
